Jakarta Marine, Agriculture and Food Security Department held meat folk market in two locations in West Jakarta, Monday (7/13). As much as 1.3 tons of beef were sold; 800 kilograms in Kembangan Utara Urban Village and 500 kilograms in Kedoya Utara Urban Village.

This event aims to lighten their burden

Head of department Darjamuni conveyed that his side had also prepared 900 chickens which were distributed to the residents. According to him, folk market is considered more effective to help them in fulfilling their daily needs ahead of Idul Fitri.

“The price has already hike up to Rp 120 thousand per kilogram. This event aims to lighten their burden,” he uttered, Monday (7/13).

Sunarti (46), one of residents in Kedoya Utara Urban Village admitted, She was so excited. As planned, she will cook a meat that she bought by Rp 39 thousand for special moment on Idul Fitri.

“This is very helpful, whereas for poor people like us. I won’t eat meat on Idul Fitri day, if there is no folk market like this,” she expressed.
